A DAY IN THE LIFE.....

The nights are getting cooler...and so are the days. I feel like I haven't written anything on my blog for centuries and I really don't have any excuses.
Matt and I have had such an enjoyable summer. We are so blessed to have so many friends and family to have great times with.
Matt and I went to Yellowstone this year. It's our every other year trip that is just us. We found the most kick butt campground 6 miles outside of West Yellowstone. We took the motorcycle up and rode on. What beauty! It was the first time Matt used an ipod while riding and I could tell he enjoy having music to go along with the ride. Every once in a while you would see his head bopping with the music. We went to Old Faithful the first day we were there. A must everytime you go to Yellowstone. The second day we enjoyed an all day ride through the upper loop stopping at Mammoth which wasn't as exciting as it was last time we were there because it's all dried up...I guess it's normal so maybe next time. The third day my ass needed a break so we went into West Yellowstone and did a little shopping and walked around enjoying all the tourists. The next day we went to the Grizzly and Wolf center..yes it was my idea because anyone that knows me well knows my passion for wolves. I think Matt had fun, too. We were within, at times, 3 feet of the wolves there. It did make me kinda sad, but the 4 wolves there were raised in captivity so they really don't know any different. The bears were cool, too...they were huge. That night sitting around the fire we decided we didn't want to come home so Matt called his work and made arrangements and we stayed an extra day. It was such a great trip I can't wait to go back.
I am still working hard at mortgages despite the whoas in the market these days. I truely enjoy the work and love the look on a cleints face when they close whether it be on a new home or refinancing the one they are currently in.
Matt is still running Burt Brothers in Farmington. They are starting on plans to add a lube center finally and Matt is really excited about that.
We had a little scare with our kitty Zoey last month. She had lost alot of weight so I took to the vet and found out her kidneys are bad. She is doing much better now that she is on a special diet. We are really grateful that she has her old personality back, but I am not sure if GusGus is because man can she kick his butt.
We just got back from the dunes last weekend with Jamie, Mike, Zoie, Joshua, Mindy, Kevin, Noah, Kristopher, Kellie, Richard, Karen, and Dustin. We had a great time unfortunately my camera is broken so I did not get any pictures, but we are headed down next month so I will have some then.
Football season has started so every Sunday we get to spend some time with the other Bears fans in our family the Romo's. I just have to say...how freakin cute....when they get to our house all are dressed in Bears attire. It's fun to have that time to chill and watch the game.......
Next Weds. the Jazz season starts and hopefully D Will will be back from his spranged ankle....GO JAZZ!!

Wow...July has come and gone by....way too fast. We had a great July celebrating our country's birthday and Utah's birthday. We set up to watch the Layton fireworks with friends at Burger Stop...kinda white trashing it, but it was great. Our friend Dave took his fifth wheel down and we hung out there most of the afternoon then headed to Mike and Jamie's for a BBQ. It was a fun day.

We went to the Bountiful parade for the 24th which is always entertaining...plus the kids love all the candy...we went to Mindy's house after for hamburgers.

August 1, Matt's big, little brother Micheal got married....it was a hot day, but Michael and Annesha didn't seem to bothered by it...Matt had to work so I went down to the temple to congratulate the newlyweds and then up to Dad and Carol house for lunch....Matt and I went down to the reception at Sun River Gardens in Orem...it was beautiful and fun to catch up with some family we haven't seen for a while.....

Matt and I just returned from Lake Powell with our good friends Karen and Dustin. We stayed on their boat and despite boat issues and coming home a day early, we did have a good time. Powell is one of the most beautiful places in Utah and after the past 5 to 6 years I have a great appreciation for its beauty and the great times we have. What memories....

Hello everyone....how busy we have been! We have had so much fun the last month and a half with weddings. Little Miss Kel Bel and Richard got married on May 9, 2008 and then Matt's little sister, Kristy, got married to long time boyfriend, Aaron.

Kellie and Richard's wedding turned out beautiful despite the Utah weather and having to move the ceremony inside. It was great to see faces from the past and family that was able to make it from out of state.

We were able to get to the dunes for a couple of days in between weddings. What a great time and the weather was awesome (Matt thought it was too hot....whatever) Darrell and Becca (or as we like to call her now 4th gear) were able to get down....finally...for one night and had a blast.

Kristy and Aaron got married on June 6, 2008 in Salt Lake. It was also beautiful despite the chance of rain and chilly temps.

I am keeping busy with mortgages and have started processing commercial and residential loans for a gentleman up here in Layton who also works out of his home. He is a financial advisor also so I am doing data entry for about 500+ clients of his. I am still working semi part time with Karen at Iris Medical which gives me a break 3 days a week from this crazy mortgage business. Kellie and Richard have been shopping with Rich and Pat for homes and hopefully have found one here in Layton. We are still waiting for acceptence of the offer, but it is an exciting time.

Matt is staying busy at Burt's. They have received approval to add a 3 bay lube center to the store that should be done by the end of the year. Matt is excited about it...it should free up some bays and he should get even busier.

Hello everyone! Hollie gave me little crap about not updating my blog when I was talking to her on Friday so I thought I would let eveyone know where we are at.

I am still loving working at home. I can't believe how awesome it is. I closed my first 2 loans last month and am working on several more. It is still so rewarding helping people with there home loans and even better working from home. I have a great processor at Home Loan Xperts who helps me which has given me a break on processing (still a little weird). I also took a part time job at Iris Medical (this is where my good friend Karen works). They do ambulance billing and I am helping them with past due accounts and return mail. It has been a learning experience, but its fun.

Matt is still loving Burt's. They just keep getting busier and better. Hopefully sometime this year he will get a couple more bays for oil changes, but for now they are staying steady.

We finally got to go to the dunes after 2 months. This winter kind of killed the dune trips, but sometimes that makes it that much better when we finally get to go. We had a great time. The weather held out Friday and Saturday, but Sunday we woke up to a couple of inches of snow and it pretty much snowed all day. Thank goodness for a tv and dvd player in the trailer so the kids could watch a movie and stay warm.

We went to Wendover over this last weekend for Kellie's bachlorette party. What a great time. It's nice to get away with sisters and good friends. We need to do it more often.

So I was just talking to Jamie and she was working on her blog and I realized I haven't added anything since December. Gosh!!

We have had a good January. I have officially decided to work from home-still doing mortgages. I hung my license with Home Loan Xperts here in Layton. Their office is 3 minutes away from my house which is nice. I have a couple of loans in my pipeline and have heard from some clients I worked with before. Its slow going, but hopefully will pick up when the weather gets a little better.

Matt has been busy at work. When he's not there he's playing Playstation 3 which he got for Chritmas (still wondering if that was a good idea or not). It keeps him occupied and out of trouble.

This year it actually snowed on Christmas Eve. Matt was excited to use the snowblower we purchased last year (in fact he is outside right now snowblowing the neighborhood). It has been such a wonderful Christmas. I am so grateful for everyone we are able to see at Christmas time that we don't get to see as much as we should.

Merry Christmas everyone! I am so excited that Hollie started this blog thing. Still working on figuring it out, but I think I will get the hang of it.

I just got done with my project for the last week or so. I decided to paint my kitchen. I have to say it turned out great. It's been nice having some time off. I decided to leave Discovery Mortgage after 10 years and head out on my own. I will be doing mortgages out of my home along with monitoring my online bookstore. The freedom has been great!
